Medicare (CDM/EPC) Physiotherapy on Tamborine Mountain
Medicare-subsidised physiotherapy through a Chronic Disease Management plan from your GP.
If you have a chronic condition that affects your mobility or physical health — such as ongoing back pain or arthritis — your GP may prepare a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan, formerly known as an EPC plan. This provides up to five Medicare-subsidised allied health appointments per calendar year, which can include physiotherapy.
How it works
- See your GP — they decide whether you're eligible and prepare the CDM referral
- Bring your referral to your physiotherapy appointment
- Medicare covers part of the fee; a gap is payable at the time of your appointment
- Sessions can be spread across the calendar year as your GP has planned
What we treat under a CDM plan
Physiotherapy under a CDM plan is commonly used for chronic musculoskeletal conditions, persistent pain, and mobility and strength goals as part of the plan your GP has set with you.
